Day 1 Melbourne – Chengdu
24 Oct

Depart Melbourne International Airport on Sichuan Airlines flight 3U602 departing at 10:10 pm for Chengdu.


Day 2 Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou (B/D)

25 Oct

Upon arrival at 5:50 am, connect Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8607, departing at 10:30 am for Jiuzhaigou. On arrival at 11:30 am, you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to the Jiuzhai Resort Hotel for your two nights stay. Rest of the afternoon, free at leisure.


Day 3 Jiuzhaigou Valley (B/L/D)

Today you will visit Wuhua Hai (Five Flowers Lake), to see the amazing variety of colours in the lake. Later visit the spectacular Nuorilang and Pearl Shoal Waterfalls, both of which are located in beautiful rainforest locations. Then visit Shu Zheng Falls, a magnificent series of waterfalls stretching several kilometres, picturesque Penjinghai Lake and the beautiful Luweihai (Reed Marshes). After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.


Optional Tour: $65 pp to join Jiuzhaigou Local Minority Tibet and Qiang Dancing and Singing Show


Day 4 Jiuzhaigou Valley – Huanglong - Maoxian (B/L/D)

Morning visit to the Huanglong Valley – a magic landscape of limestone formations made up of thousands of pools spread along the valley floor, five waterfalls, four caves and ancient temples. Take the cable car up to the top of the Huanglong National Park and slowly walk down. In the afternoon, continue on to Maoxian for your overnight stay at the Maoxian International Hotel or similar.


Day 5 Maoxian – Leshan – Mt.Emei (B/L/D)

After breakfast depart for Leshan, where you will visit the famous Leshan Giant Buddha and then cruise along the river for spectacular views of the Buddha. The Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, travel though the countryside to the county of Emei and check into the Hua Sheng Hotel Emei or similar, for your overnight stay.


Day 6 Mt. Emei - Chengdu (B/L/D)

After breakfast, travel to the Golden Summit (one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains of China), for the most breathtaking scenery, mysterious natural wonders and historic Buddhist sites. Take the cable car up and explore the Golden Summit, before heading back down the mountain, where you will visit the Huazhang and Baoguo Temples. After the tour, travel back to Chengdu City and check in at the Chengdu Xinliang Hotel or similar, for your two nights stay.


Day 7 Chengdu (B/L/D)

Today you will visit the Panda Research Centre (one of the best places in China to see the famous giant panda), where you can see and cuddle the cute panda and witness their feeding. After lunch, travel to Luodai ancient town, considered the largest and best preserved Hakka ancient town in the western part of China. Later in the afternoon, transfer to Jinli Street to have your dinner, before enjoying the wonderful Sichuan Opera Face Changing Show, where you watch skilled persons perform by changing face masks very quickly according to the needs of the story. After the show, transfer back to your hotel.


Day 8 Chengdu – Changsha - Zhangjiajie (B/L/D)

Early morning transfer to Chengdu airport to board Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8997, departing at 7:45 am for Changsha. On arrival at 9:30 am, you will be met by your tour guide who will take you on a Changsha City and Yuelu Mountain Tour. After lunch, you will travel overland to the Zhangjiajie Scenic Zone and check into the Santa Daminga International Hotel, for your two nights stay.


Day 9 Zhangjiajie (B/L/D)

After breakfast, take a 50 minutes drive to the Yuanjiajie-Avatar No.1 Bridge. Yuanjiajie is a naturally formed platform mountain, surrounded by higher summits which are divided by deep valleys. Each natural bridge stands in the valley and possesses its own peculiar shape. Travel up the Bailong Elevator, claimed to be the world’s tallest glass elevator, which is built onto the side of a huge cliff in Zhangjiajie, before travelling to Tianzi Mountain for stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Waterfalls, bridges, stone forests and caves are found throughout the mountains. Then proceed to visit the Ten Miles Painting Gallery, located at the foot of Tianzi Mountain and part of the Suo Xiyu Natural Resource Reserve. Ten Mile Gallery is a narrow canyon with the width of 6 meters and length of 5 km and looks like an outdoor sculpture painting.


Day 10 Zhangjiajie (B/L/D)

This morning take the Tianmenshan Mountain cableway ride up the mountain This is the longest mountain cableway in the world (7455 meters), which starts from the city center of Zhangjiajie and travels to the 'Hanging Garden' on the peak. On arrival at the summit, visit the Glass Walkway, Tianmen Temple and the Tianmen Cave. Later visit the Golden Whip Stream, which with a length of 7.5 kilometers is famous for its pristine water, its verdant mountains, its steep cliffs and its serene valley. Finally, visit a local gallery of sand and stone painting, before returning to downtown Zhangjiajie for your overnight stay at the Zhangjiajie Dacheng Hotel or similar.


Day 11 Zhangjiajie – Fenghuang (B/L/D)

After breakfast, travel by coach to Fenghuang Town. Upon arrival visit the Tuojiang River, then take a boat ride down Tuojiang River to visit the Family Yang’s Clan House, East Gate Tower, Hong Bridge and the former residence of Shen Congwen. Afterward, visit the Wansou and Congde Palaces. Rest of the day is free for you to further explore this beautiful and ancient town. Check-in to the Fenghuang Garden Hotel or similar for your overnight stay.


Day 12 Fenghuang – Changsha (B/L/D)

Today you will travel 7 hours by bus to Changsha. On arrival, check into the Day Hotel and Suite China Town Hotel Changsha or similar for your overnight stay.


Day 13   Changsha – Chengdu (B/L)

5 Nov

After breakfast, visit the Orange Islet. Orange Islet, also called Juzizhou Islet, is the most famous place in Changsha and is known all over China because of Mao Zedong's poem 'Qin Yuan Chun Changsha'. The islet, located in the middle of the Xiangjiang River, is a picturesque park with beautiful pavilions and corridors. Later in the afternoon, you will be transferred to Changsha airport to board Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8020, departing at 7:20 pm for Chengdu. On arrival at 9.30 pm, you will be met by your tour guide and be transferred to the Chengdu Tianfu Sunshine Hotel or similar, for your overnight stay.


Day 14 Chengdu - Melbourne (B/D)

Day at leisure until check-out time at 4 pm. During your free time, you may want to have a relaxing day at the hotel or further exploration/ shopping in this exciting city. At 6.00 pm, you will be met by your tour guide at the hotel lobby and have dinner in a local restaurant, before being transferred for Chengdu International Airport to board Sichuan Airlines flight 3U601 departing at 1:05 am (Morning of 7 Nov 16 flight) for Melbourne.


Day 15 Melbourne

7 Nov

Arrive back into Melbourne International Airport at 2:10 pm.


Conditions: Price is based on twin/triple share accommodation. Single supplement is $750.
